Tea can be a natural medicine for various diseases. But, do you know that drinking hot tea may cause cancer? Oh God!
A recent research made in China revealed drinking very hot tea may increase the risk of developing esophageal cancer. Drinking tea at temperature 70° C may double or triple the risk of esophageal cancer which compared with individuals who preferred their tea at less than 70° C.
People are recommended to wait a few minutes before partaking when they are served with super-hot foods and beverages. The researcher said that It is unclear how hot tea might cause cancer, but one idea is that repeated thermal injury to the lining of the throat somehow initiates it.
Each year, cancer of the esophagus has killed more than 500,000 people worldwide, with the bulk occurring in discrete populations in Asia, Africa, and South America. The tumors are especially deadly, with five-year survival rates of 12 to 31 percent.
