8. Coliseum
The Coliseum was built as a celebration of military victory. The construction of the Coliseum involving 50.000 to 80.000 workers. With 157 feet height and 620 feet length, it has been one of Romanian marvels in engineering architecture. This project needs 10 years for completion.
7. Parthenon
The Parthenon was built on Acropolis hill , Athen, in the 5th century BC. This longest construction project was built as a temple to the Goddess Athens. The project took 17 years.
6. The Great Pyramid of Giza
These ancient Egyptian are amongst the most popular buildings on earth. The biggest on this site was built for the Pharaoh Khufu around 2,550 B.C., spending about 20 years to complete, and was the tallest man-made structure in the world until the building of the Eiffel Tower.
5. York Minster Cathedral
Started by the Archbishop Walter de Gray in 1220, the construction of this massive project was not completed until 1472. It includes the largest example of medieval stained glass in the world, and is some 520-feet long. York Minster was built using purely medieval techniques and equipment, and still took over two centuries of continuous construction to complete.
4. Chichen Itza
It is located on the Yucatán Peninsula of Mexico,and is one of the most popular Mayan settlementa. The construction estimated starting around A.D. 600 with a breathtaking example of mathematical precision and artistic imagination, it spents 400 years to be completed.
3. Angkor Wat
It was built in the middle of 12th century by the ruler of the Khmer Empire in Cambodia,and as a tribute to the Hindu God Vishnu. It took 418 years for finishing this project.
2. Stonehenge
Despite being around 5,000 years old, nobody is certain what Stonehenge was built for. Each stone weighs over four tons and was dragged over 240 miles from southern Wales to its final resting place in Wiltshire, England. It is believed to have taken over 1,600 years to be completed.

The project was started over 2,000 years ago, and still being constructed during the 16th century A., The Great Wall was as much a symbol of imperial power. It is estimated that between two and three million men died during its construction.This project needs more than 2000 years to complete.
